Explore Manaaki Tāpoi (L1)

Celebrate and explore the importance of connection to the natural world and to others though the lens of Manaaki Tāpoi / cultural tourism.

Participants have the opportunity of completing 5 Level 1 NCEA credits on this programme.

The Explore Manaaki Tāpoi programme is an opportunity for Year 11 students to come to Whenua Iti Outdoors and participate in an overnight 4-day programme. 

You will be introduced to concepts and activities that connect you with te taiao (the environment) while exploring Te Ao Māori concepts of manaakitanga, atuatanga, karakia and whakawhanaungatanga.

Academic Objectives

Students will have the opportunity to achieve academic learning objectives that contribute to their National Certificate of Education Achievement (NCEA) and develop crucial personal and social development skills.
