The Explore Programmes offer a short, one-week taste of our NCEA accredited programmes at Whenua Iti Outdoors. Great for Year 11 students to get a feel for our style of learning, gain L1 credits and get outside of the classroom for a boost in confidence from new experiences!
Explore Te Taiao
Explore Te Taiao, the environment, while taking part in active hands-on activities that support efforts to protect New Zealand’s unique biodiversity

Explore Adventure Leadership
Gain confidence in the outdoors by learning practical outdoor skills in a team environment through a range of adventure activities.

Explore Manaaki Tāpoi
Celebrate and explore the importance of connection to the natural world and to others though the lens of Manaaki Tāpoi / cultural tourism.
5 credits (Level 1) | 4 days
Explore Emergency Services
This programme will include active and fun scenarios in the outdoors to develop your uniformed and emergency response skills.

Whenua Iti Outdoors delivers a range of programmes for Year 11 - 13 students. Each course includes assessments that contribute to students' NCEA. They are packed with experiential learning opportunities to build confidence, leadership & essential employability skills.

Rangatahi Leadership Programmes
Whenua Iti Outdoors offer a range of 9-day programmes to promote leadership that build a connection to the whenua (land), tangata (people) and to te taiao (the environment) through outdoor experiences that will challenge students in a safe & supportive setting.
Ages: 16 - 18 yrs
Duration: 8 nights / 9 days
